Greetings, Rosebank families! I hope you are having a good weekend.
Veteran’s Day – Just a reminder, there is no school this Friday Nov. 11 for Veteran’s Day.
Cabrillo Trip – It’s just around the corner! We will go to Cabrillo Monument on Wed. Nov. 16 with Ms. Donahue’s class from 9:00-2:00. Please sign and return the permission slip sent home last week and $10 bus cost donation. Please, no checks or coins. The deadline is this Thurs. Nov. 10. Please don’t forget, as it is a short week! We are so excited to learn more about the life of this famous explorer who came to San Diego Bay!
Nov. Scholastic Book Orders – due this Thursday as well. Please complete order form in the back and return it with cash or check payable to Scholastic. You may also order online at www.scholastic.com with code LHK22. October book orders are on their way now.
Weekend Homework – Please have your child read 35 minutes or more of their AR book(s) and write a summary on their Reading Log. Whatever they read over the weekend, they should take an AR test on, on Monday morning. Also, please sign their Weekly Reports and return Monday morning. If they did not give it to you, please ask for it or check their backpack/folder! Thank you.
Lexile Adjustments – Every month on the first of the month, Achieve sends me a report of any lexile adjustments depending on how students are doing on their articles. These students’ lexiles have gone up! Conrad, Giani, Bryan, Raleigh, Jacob, Adam, Shawn, Evan, Kassandra, Alejandra, Arlez, Tupea, Cidnie, Aiden, and Molly. I’ll send home the lexile stars Monday. They earned a Homework Pass and will also earn Dojo points. We have been trying to take our time to read the articles, highlight important information and take notes in the boxes. I think it’s working! Keep up the good work on Achieve, Panthers!
Attendance – Many students are getting sick! It’s that time of year again. Please keep kids home if they have fever or diarrhea. I hope everyone stays healthy!
Thanksgiving Holiday Week – Nov. 21-25, no school the whole week.
