4th Grade Swim

As you can see, we’ve been working hard in Swim Class and loving it! The swim instructors are very nice and knowledgable.  The number one rule is NO RUNNING. The first day we learned about water safety and talked about healthy habits, such as not drinking soda and juices (too much sugar), just water and milk.  The second day we “ran” as many laps in the pool as we could in 5 minutes.  Some of us made it to 10 laps! We have been working on techniques for breathing, kicking, freestyle, backfloat, backstroke, etc. Some of us even got to jump in the 12 feet and also learn how to dive.  On Friday, some groups played a fun game called Sharks and Minnows. The last day of class we turned in our Soda-free Challenge sheets and raffled them off for cool prizes! Many of us also got to jump off the diving board. No wonder we were so tired and needed a nap when we came home. Nevertheless, we enjoyed and looked forward to swim class everyday!

First Library Visit

When we had our first library visit of the year, we were so excited to get our hands on books we sat down and quietly started reading immediately!

Fun Friday

We work hard all week, so let’s have a little free time to choose an activity and be with our friends on Fun Fridays.  Some of us choose computers, helping Mrs. King, Kendama, card games, chess, checkers, watercolors, etc.  It’s good to let loose!
