Students copy their HW assignments down in class on their Planners at school every morning.

Winter Break Homework

Reading – Read books everyday. Try to read at least one chapter book. Be ready to take AR test(s) when we return.

Achieve3000 – complete 6 or more articles at 75% or above on First Try. Submit 3 Thought Questions.

IXL Math – 20 or more minutes daily on these 4th grade standards:

• A6 Rounding
• B1 Add Numbers Up to Millions
• C1 Subtract Numbers Up to Millions
• Q11 Compare Fractions Using Benchmarks
• D17 and D18 Multiply 2-Digit Numbers
• E8 Divide Larger Numbers
• Q9 Reduce Fractions
• Q10 Benchmark Fractions
• Q16 Compare Fractions
• Q20 Order Fractions
• Student Choice after you complete above at 80% or higher

Think Central – Personal Math Trainers

Mission Research Report (optional) – To extend our learning of California missions, students are challenged and highly encouraged to do a short research report on one of the 21 California missions of their choosing. Students may research their mission in the public library or online. Students will then create either a tri-fold brochure of their mission or just a one-page report (3-5 paragraphs) written neatly or typed. They may present their brochure/report on Friday, Jan. 15. Information to include in their brochure/report: brief history of the mission, description of the mission and features, interesting facts, location/map, diagram, etc. Mission San Diego de Alcala and Mission San Juan Capistrano would be great family field trips to take over Winter Break. Students who present a research report will earn a prize. Please email me if you have any questions.
