Hello, families! This week we are back to our normal schedule. One exciting thing is we are in charge of Morning Announcements. A different classmate each day will speak into the intercom and lead the pledge, and tell about the core value Perseverance and common courtesy “I apologize.” Good luck, friends!
Conferences – Oct. 30-Nov. 6. These days are 1:45 dismissal. Please check out the Conference Schedule and sign up if you haven’t done so. I look forward to meeting with you and your child at our conference.
Scholastic Book Orders for October have been submitted and will arrive in 7-10 business days. Thank you for your orders!
AR – please make sure your child is taking one AR test everyday. Many students have already reached the 10 points needed for the electronics party on Nov. 7 and may pleasure-read for homefun. Way to go! However, many students are still far from the goal. Don’t worry! You still have time to read, read, read and reach 10 points! You can do it!
Bird Island Letter – Please read, sign and return to school when this comes home. Thank you!
Achieve Homefun – begins this week! Students have their Achieve login info inside their Homefun Planner cover. Students must spend 20 or more minutes on Achieve. The goal is to complete as many articles as they can in 20 minutes with 75% or higher on First Try. Achieve can take the place of writing the Reading Log summary. They must still read their AR book for 30 minutes, but if they do Achieve for 20 minutes, they don’t have to do the Reading Log part. 🙂 Please contact me if you or your child have any questions.

Math – we will begin Module 3 Multiplication and Division this week and will continue all the way to Winter Break. Please watch out for the letter regarding this module and how you can help at home. If your child hasn’t memorized their multiplication and division facts 0-12, please have them practice with homemade flash cards, writing out their facts or by going on www.multiplication.com. Thank you for your help at home.
