Days are zooming by in 502!

Greetings, Rosebank families! Happy belated Mother’s Day to all! Thank you also for all the gifts, cards, treats for Teacher Appreciation Week last week. I feel truly honored to teach your children and work with all of you this year. Just a few announcements and reminders…

Science Projects – due next week Tues. May 23 and Wed. May 24. Your child should be finishing up their experiment this week and working on their presentation board. They will be assigned a day to present. I will send home index cards for them to write/glue their presentations on. My tip to them was: print out two copies of the presentation, one to put on their board and one to glue on their cards. This Friday – please have your child bring their boards if they would like class time or help to work on them. Thank you for your involvement in their project!

Science Fair – next Thursday May 25 from 9:00-10:30 in the Multi Purpose Room. Come on by to see all the wonderful experiments the students conducted! See you there.

Our Last AR Electronics Party – will be this Friday May 19. I will send home permission slips this week for students who have reached their AR personal goals and are eligible to attend. Please encourage your child if they are close to their goal! Thank you for all your help with their reading at home this year.

Our Last Red Carpet – Congratulations to our Red Carpet winners this quarter: Jacob for Academic Excellence, Cesar for Citizenship, Evan for Academic Effort and Arath for Academic Effort! They will be honored at this Friday’s assembly.

The Long Awaited AR Assembly – will be May 24. Students with 60 or more AR points will receive prizes and recognition! A special recognition to our very own Alejandra with 98.5% accuracy/comprehension for the year! WOW!

Next Year – It is with mixed feelings that I announce I will be moving to a new school next year. I have been thinking about returning to primary grades for a while now, and an opportunity to do so presented itself to me. I’ll be moving to the newest school in Chula Vista called Muraoka Elementary to teach first grade! I am excited but also sad to leave Rosebank, such a wonderful school. My son, who will come with me, is also very heartbroken to leave the awesome friends he’s made. Thank you again for making my last year at Rosebank a memorable one and for all your support. I will miss each and every student in my class!

Have a great week, Panthers! Please email me with any questions or concerns. ~ Respectfully yours, Mrs. King 🙂
