Greetings, Panthers! I hope you all are enjoying your weekend. Our class had a great week last week. We worked hard on our tests and celebrated AR goal accomplishments with an Electronics Party on Friday. Congratulations to those who made their points goals!
Winter Break – is upon us! Dec. 19-Jan. 9 there is no school. School resumes Tuesday, Jan. 10 which will be a minimum day.
Reader’s Theatre Performance – will be Thursday at 9:00. 4th grade will perform “Casey at Bat.” I hope you can make it! Please have your child wear baseball-related gear if you have them. If not, they can wear a gray/white top and jeans. Hope to see you Thursday!
Winter Party – We will be having a Winter Party to celebrate all our hard work in 2nd quarter. Thank you to those who donated money for pizza: Eric, Marco, and one more student. This is what we have so far for food: Juice Boxes – Conrad and Isaac, Chips – Kassandra, Cookies – Molly and Tupea, Plates – Marco, Napkins – Marco, Forks – Cidnie, Fruit – Molly, Pick up Pizzas – Alejandra. We still need another Chips, Fruit, and Vegetable Tray. Please sign up on the paper or email me. Thank you!
Spirit Day – Friday is Winter Wonderland Day. Wear your festive winter/holiday gear and show your Panther pride!
Report Cards – will be given out Friday. Because of this, there will be no Weekly Report sent home that day. Thank you for your understanding.
Reading – I’m so proud of all the students! They have worked hard. Every single one has improved on their AR and LevelSet!!! Great job, Panthers! You are awesome. Thank you parents for all your help at home. Let’s keep up the great work in 3rd quarter!
3rd Quarter Requirements – We are raising the bar! In 3rd quarter, students will be expected to complete 3 Achieve articles as well as one Thought Question. For ELD group, 1 article and 1 Thought Question. For Stanford group, 3 articles and 2 Thought Questions. In AR, all students will set a goal to advance at least 20 points in quarter 3. If they reach the goal, they may pleasure-read but still only test in books at their levels. You can do it, Panthers! Aim high!
Winter Break Packet – I will send home a little packet over break to encourage reading, practice math, and challenge students. All work is optional but if completed, will be rewarded with Homework Passes.
Field Trip – Looking ahead…Our next trip will be to Indian Hills on Feb. 1. Bus cost donation will be approximately $15. Please plan ahead if needed. Thank you!
Welcome, Leonardo, Abraham, and Cesar to Rosebank! Happy Dec. birthday to Alejandra!
Have a great week, Panthers! Keep on reading and being awesome! ~ Respectfully yours, Mrs. King 🙂
