drugfree

Greetings, Rosebank families! I hope you are having a nice end to your weekend. 🙂

Owl Pellet Dissection – will be this Wed! (squeal) Thank you for returning the permission letter and $6 last week. I sent home another copy to students who needed it. Please don’t delay! Send the slip and $6 Monday. Thank you so much. We are so looking forward to our visit from the Raptor Institute and dissecting some owl pellets!

Red Ribbon Week – This week is Red Ribbon Week. A flyer was sent home with a drug-free pledge as well as Spirit Days. Show your spirit everyday as follows:

Monday – Crazy Hair Day – You’d be CRAZY to do drugs! Wear your hair in a crazy way.

Tuesday – Team Sports Day – Team up against drugs! Wear your favorite team’s jersey.

Wednesday – Pajamas Day – Dream bigger than drugs! Wear clean pj’s and regular shoes for the playground, please.

Thursday – Twin Day – Friends don’t let friends do drugs! Dress alike with a friend.

Friday – Red Day – to symbolize Red Ribbon Week! Wear red this day.

PTA – Thank you to those who have signed up to be PTA members. If you haven’t done so, please sign up. All it takes is $10 to join! Help support our wonderful school with your donation, membership, and/or time. If you are available, PTA meetings are every second Wednesday of the month at 6:00 p.m. Refreshments at 5:30.

Weekend Homework – Your child needs to get their Weekly Reports signed. Please speak with them about improving behavior or work habits if needed.  Don’t forget to initial the yellow AR report in back! Also, please have your child read 35 minutes of their AR book(s). They are required to take an AR test when they come to school Monday morning. Thank you for helping them be responsible with their homework.

Math Quiz – I sent home the latest math quiz on division attached to your child’s weekly report. Please speak with them about their progress or any improvements to make.

Scholastic Book Orders – due this Friday Oct. 28. Please return completed order form and cash or check payable to Scholastic. You may also order online at scholastic.com with code LHK22. Orders will arrive about 2 weeks after I submit.

H2October/Recycling – This Friday will be the last day to collect new water bottles for the homeless. Please drop off in the front parking section and don’t forget to label your donation with student name and teacher name or room number. We will continue to collect recyclable water bottles on Fridays throughout the year. Thank you for getting involved and helping out our community!

Math Test – We will be taking our chapter 4 test in division this week. Please help your child Monday night to review and do their homework so they will be ready!

Thank you for everything you do at home, parents. You are such an integral part of the education puzzle! Please email me at arlene.king@cvesd.org with any questions. Have an awesome week, Panthers! Don’t forget Crazy Hair Day tomorrow. ~ Respectfully, Mrs. King 🙂
