Greetings, Rosebank families! I hope you are having a lovely Labor Day Weekend.
Mission Trails Trip – Our field trip to Mission Trails last Thursday was awesome! We watched a film about the Kumeyaay Tribes of San Diego, we participated in a Scavenger Hunt in the museum, and hiked the trail with Ranger Julie, learning more about the plants and animals in the chaparral ecosystem. A huge thank you to our parent chaperones for their help: Ms. Alvarez (Diego), Ms. Gomez (Kassandra), Ms. Miller (Marco), Mr. Rodriguez (Alejandra), and Ms. Magana (Adam)! Photos to be uploaded soon.
Conferences – begin this Thursday Sept. 8 with dismissal at 1:45 everyday. Please see the Conference Schedule on the above menu (on the website) for your date/time. I look forward to meeting with everyone! Don’t forget to bring your child to join us. Please call or email if you cannot make our appointment.
Report Cards – will be given at your child’s conference.
Fall Break – will be Mon. Sept. 19 – Tues. Oct. 4. Can you believe it’s almost fall?

AR Electronics Party! – will be this Friday Sept. 9 from 11:35-12:05 during our Fun Friday time. I will send home permission slips Tuesday for eligible students (those with 12 or more AR points earned this year so far). Way to work hard, Panthers! Students below 12 points can still attend if they reach 12 before Friday. Keep reading!
Achieve – Every month, Achieve sends a report of students who grew in lexile based on their performance on articles for the past month. Congratulations to many students in our class on their improvement! I sent home a little white star for students with this achievement. Way to go, Panthers!
Reader’s Theatre Performances – Parents are invited! We will be having special performances by our 4th graders on Thurs. Sept. 15 from 11:00-12:00. They will be reading Greek plays they have worked on with our VAPA teacher Ms. Cherie. We hope you can attend!
California Dough Maps – As part of our study of California’s 4 regions, we will be forming and painting salt-dough relief maps the last week of school before Fall Break. Please help your child make their dough ball next weekend and bring it in a baggy next Monday Sept. 12 so we can begin. I will send the paper home this Tuesday but here is the recipe in advance. Thank you for your help! You can find the recipe on the bottom of page 1:
