CAASPP Testing Begins

Greetings, Panthers! What an awesome week we had last week.

Cabrillo -We had a great time at our Cabrillo trip. We learned a lot from watching a film about his voyage, listening to our docent Ranger Amanda tell us about the weapons, food, and struggles 16th century explorers had to endure. We went on a short hike and took in the amazing views of Point Loma. Thank you to all our parent volunteers for their assistance and energy: Mrs. Banuelos, Mrs. Diaz, Mrs. Mata, Mrs. Rodriguez, Mrs. Stark, Mr. Richard. We couldn’t have survived without you!

Egg Drop – We also enjoyed our Egg Drop on Friday. Thank you to parents who came to watch. Students presented their project to Mr. David, our custodian, who dropped them with an egg inside from the top of the ladder. Many were successful, some were unfortunately not. We congratulate all our 4th graders for their participation and hard work learning about the Scientific Method. We look forward to seeing their wonderful projects at the upcoming Science Fair on May 25th.

This week begins our CAASPP testing. Please be reminded:

  • Eat breakfast at home or school everyday. School breakfast is available at 8:20 in the cafeteria. There will be no Second Chance Breakfast available for 4th graders during testing.
  • Bring a quick snack and water. We will provide snacks as well. We will have a short break in the middle of testing.
  • Bring your own headphones/earbuds if you would like to use them.
  • Please schedule all appointments during other weeks, not this week. If you must schedule this week, please schedule in the afternoons. Thank you!

Yearbook – Reserve your copy of the 2015-16 yearbook today! Send $20 to office or your child’s teacher by this Friday May 6 for the presale price. After May 6, prices go up to $25. Thank you!

Have a great week, Panthers! Finish strong! ~ Mrs. King 🙂
