Conferences begin Thursday!

Greetings, Rosebank families! Happy March! Can you believe there are only 10 school days left in 3rd quarter? I hope you are enjoying this rainy weekend. We had a busy and great time last week completing our Language Arts Performance Task and celebrating Dr. Seuss/Read Across America Day!

Weekend Homework – AR Reading 40 minutes and Reading Log. Get Weekly Progress Report and yellow AR report signed and bring back Monday. California Project Final Draft due Monday. Begin/continue/finish working on the visual for the project (poster, diorama, or powerpoint). Presentations begin Thursday. Please contact me if you have any questions! Here is the packet for the California History Project in case you need it again, a sample report as well as examples of visuals:

Minimum Days – begin this Thursday and Friday and all next week. 4th graders will be dismissed at 1:45.

Spring Break – Mon. March 21 – Fri. April 1. Only 10 more days of school. Our last day of school before break will be Fri. March 18. School will resume Mon. April 4 and will be a regular day. Hooray for break!

Student-Led Conferences – begin this Thursday! See the current schedule here. Thank you to everyone who has signed up. If you haven’t yet or need to reschedule, please contact me right away. I will also be calling you to schedule. Remember that your child needs to attend because they will be leading the conference! Also, there may be more than one conference going on in the room at the same time. Please be patient! Thank you again in advance for allowing your child this opportunity to share about their progress.

California History Project – Presentations will begin this Thursday. Students will sign up on Monday for their time. I’m so looking forward to their projects and presentations! Thank you for all your help at home getting them ready. Homework for Monday through Wednesday this week will be to practice their presentation with the visual. Break a leg!

AR Electronics Party – will be this Friday March 11 for students who have met their individual AR points goal! This is the last week for students to earn points to be able to attend and bring their electronics. Many have already reached their goal ~ what an accomplishment! (You can see on their yellow AR report that I send home every week.) I will send a permission slip home Monday for students who have made it and those who are very close. Please encourage your child to read, read, read and take their AR tests at school! You can do it, Panthers!

Thank you all for continuing to work hard. Spring Break is just around the corner! Please let me know if you have any questions. Enjoy the rest of your weekend, Panthers! ~ Mrs. King 🙂
