Greetings, Rosebank families! I hope you’re enjoying your weekend. It’s starting to feel chilly like fall now, finally!
Camp-Out – I hope those that were able to attend Friday night had a great time! Thanks for showing your support!
Veteran’s Day – This Wed. Nov. 11 there will be no school. We salute all veterans for their service and dedication to our great nation.
Weekly Progress Report and AR Report – Don’t forget to initial weekly on the yellow AR Report!
Math – Students have been working hard in Ch.5 Factors and Multiples. Our post test will be Monday and Tuesday. Please have them work on Ch. 5 Practice Test this weekend on Think Central website (or on paper). The practice test allows them to view examples and steps on how to work the problem out. If they do well on the practice test, they will surely do well on the Post Test. Panthers are mathematicians!
Math Review – We have a 15-minute warm-up in our daily math block, during which we review past concepts. The past two weeks we’ve focused on rounding, estimating, double-digit multiplication, and PEMDAS. We had our first quiz on these concepts Friday, which I will be sending home. While I was very confident in students moving on, it looks like we need to continue! Students need to improve their precision and accuracy by checking their work over for careless mistakes. Please encourage your child to look back over the problems on their homework before they put it away. You can do it, Panthers!
Thanksgiving Week – There will be no school the week of Nov. 23-27 for Thanksgiving. I will assign some work for review and practice.
Scholastic Book Orders – extended deadline until Mon Nov. 9. Orders will be placed Monday evening and should arrive in 2-3 weeks. Students should have their orders the week after Thanksgiving Break.
Compliment Party – We had our very first compliment party this past Friday. For earning 20 class compliments, the class voted to watch a movie “The Neverending Story.” We had a fun time! Now we are working to earn another 20 class compliments. Great team work, class!
Annual Canned Food Drive – Rosebank is now collecting non-perishable bags, boxes and cans of food to donate to the needy. Please drop off in our classroom box from now until Nov. 20. Panthers have heart!
Have a wonderful week, Panthers! Check back mid-week for photos posted. Don’t forget, no school Wednesday! ~ Mrs. King 🙂
