Greetings, Rosebank families! I hope you had a nice weekend celebrating Halloween if you did and are transitioning well with the time change.
Socktober – Thank you for all your sock donations last month. Our school collected over 3,000 pairs of new socks for the homeless community! Awesome job, Panthers! Our own class count was at 205 pairs, well over our class goal of 124. Well done!
Weekly Progress Reports – Thank you for signing every week and having your child return them Monday. By this time, you should be asking your child for these reports every Friday after school. Remember to initial the yellow AR Report attached to the back and look over the papers stapled to the report such as quizzes, behavior slips, homework slips. Just some reminders:
- Students should NOT be taking apart the pages to “hide” any behavior or homework slips they wrote during the week.
- Students should also NOT be writing their parent’s signatures for them. If you have any concerns, please let me know and please speak with your child. Thank you for your support.
Achieve3000 – The students are getting in the routine of completing 2 activities per week at 75% or higher on First Try. Huge thank you to parents for helping at home. We have been working on the Thought Question together in our reading groups. We will do one more together before the students will be responsible to submit one Thought Question by the end of the week.
Achieve Reading Lexile Increases – I’m so impressed with the class! Many students have raised their Achieve reading lexile scores in the month of October. I will be sending home the Lexile Stars to students who have grown (see below). Congratulations! Please initial anywhere on the star, have your child cut out the star and return it to school to showcase on our classroom wall. Well done, boys and girls! These are the students who increased, the lexile points increase in parentheses:
Manolo (35), Xanny (10), Guillian (35), Julianna (35), Preston (40), Omar (25), David (35), Miguel (10), Jordan (70), Jesus H.
