Greetings, Rosebank families! I apologize for the very late post. This week is Red Ribbon Week (Say No to Drugs) and also our last week of Socktober (donate clean socks)! Thank you to those who have donated and continue to donate socks for the homeless community. So far we have collected 101 pairs of socks. The primary and upper class with the most pairs collected will each be treated to a pizza party!
Red Ribbon Week
Monday – wear red ribbon to say No to drugs!
Tuesday – Turn your back on drugs – Wear your shirt backwards!
Wed – Stomp out drugs – Wear boots or mismatched shoes.
Thurs – Our future’s too bright for drugs! Wear sunglasses.
Fri – Superhero day! Save the day and fight against drugs. Wear a superhero T-shirt. Sorry, no costumes allowed.
Red Carpet Assembly – This Friday at 9:00 we will honor our first Red Carpet students at assembly: Guillian for Citizenship, Preston for Citizenship, Melissa for Academic Effort, Sergio for Academic Effort, Audrey for Academic Excellence and Jesus H. for Academic Excellence. Congratulations to our outstanding fellow Panthers!
AR/Achieve3000 – Students are doing so much better with their reading. Thank you for your help at home! I’ve been holding them accountable everyday and having them miss recesses if they have not taken or passed their requirements. Because of this, many students have been more focused on completing their assignments. Please continue to encourage them at home and monitor their AR nightly reading, Achieve articles, and AR tests. Please don’t forget to look at their yellow AR sheet every Friday to see what growth your child has made!
Math Test – We just completed the Ch. 4 Division Post Test. Needless to say, it was a tough test! Only 5 students passed, although many students do show improvement from their pretests. I will work on sending home their scores soon. Please continue to help your child practice the long division standard algorithm (the traditional way to do long division) as often as possible. Thank you!
Turn Clocks Back – this Sunday Nov. 1. Don’t forget!
Have a great rest of your week, Panthers! ~ Mrs. King 🙂
