Greetings, Rosebank families! Sorry for the late post. I hope you all had a nice weekend.
Thank you – to all parent chaperones on last week’s trip to Mission Trails. It was a great trip! We went on a nature hike, learned about plants, listened to a Kumeyaay speaker tell stories, sing songs and play instruments, and participated in a Scavenger Hunt around the Visitor Center. I couldn’t have done it without the help of these chaperones: Mrs. Banuelos, Mr. Kende, Mrs. Mata and Mr. Mata, Ms. Blanca, Mrs. Quintero, Mrs. Rodriguez, Mrs. Stark. Hooray for chaperones! I will post photos soon on our Photos page.
Weekend Homework – I assigned a Math Page (even’s only) this weekend instead of Reading Log. Students are still to read 30 minutes but no log. Thank you!
Weekly Reports – My AR login was resolved, so I sent home your child’s AR progress. The class goal is to add 18 more points to last quarter, so the total points your child should strive to have is 31 points by 12/11. We still have not set our individual goals at this time.
AR Trouble – If your child has not taken any AR tests in the last two weeks, they are taking too long with their chapter book. Please encourage them to read picture books at their level to write on the Log and to take tests on at school. They may continue to read a chapter book on the side. Thank you for your support at home!
Achieve – Please remember that your child should be completing 2 or more articles at 75% or higher on First Try by Friday every week. Your child’s progress is notated on the front of the Weekly Report. We are still working on Thought Questions in class.
Substitutes – Tuesday I will be at a district math training all day and will have a sub. It will be the first sub of the year. Please speak with your child about being on their best behavior. I expect them to showcase their BEST CORE VALUES to any and all guest teachers at Rosebank! Wed I will be out for BTSA in the morning and Friday/Monday for personal days. Mrs. Kawamoto (our GATE teacher and awesome retired veteran teacher) will be my sub on those days. Rest assured that it will be business as usual with our academics and behavior. Please let me know about any concerns via email.
PAWS – We will have our PAWS this Thursday in the morning. We are excited to have Art, Dance/PE, and Theatre!
Socktober – So far we have collected 69 pairs of socks! Thank you! Please keep bringing them in. Mrs. Blackford’s class already has 210! Please help us help the homeless by donating more socks this week and next week. Thank you!
Happy birthday to Xanny and Jiimar and a belated birthday to Jordan! Have a terrific week, Panthers! ~ Mrs. King 🙂
