Greetings, Rosebank families! I apologize for the late post. Busy month!
Zoo Trip – Our zoo trip is today, Tuesday. Thank you for sending in all permission slips! There is no cost donation; the zoo provided Watershed presentations at our school and will be taking care of the buses. 🙂 Please make sure your child brings a snack, water, and lunch. Please also make sure they are dressed comfortably and in layers. We have a packed schedule of learning activities, bus tour, and lunch. Unfortunately there will be no time for our own exploration. Parent chaperones, please be at school at 8:45. Thank you in advance for your help. It’s going to be a great day!
Memorial Day Holiday – Monday May 25, no school. School resumes Tuesday May 26. Hooray!
Science Project – All science projects are due next week: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. We will have in-class presentations those days. Sign-ups will be this week for dates/times. Our 4th Grade Science Fair is next Friday May 29 from 9:00-10:30. We hope you can attend and see all the wonderful projects! Last week your child should have conducted their experiments. This week your child should be creating their board and rehearsing their presentation. Here again is what the board should look like: science fair board ideas. Please help your child prepare for next week! Here are the resources again for the experiments if your child hasn’t finished that part yet: Science Experiments, science fair project, Science-Fair-Ideas. I will give them time in class this Thursday and Friday to work on their boards. If you would like them to work on their board at school, please have them bring their boards Thursday and Friday. Thank you! Science is cool!
Achieve LevelSet – We will be taking the Achieve LevelSet Test next week on Thursday. Please continue to have your child work on Achieve3000 articles at home. They should be completing at least one article a day with 75% score or higher on First Try. The more time spent on Achieve, the stronger readers they will become. The link to Achieve is on the right. Thank you for your support at home. Panthers are great readers!
Weekly Progress Reports – Sent home yesterday (Mon). Please take a look, sign, and return both white and pink sheets. Please speak with your child regarding any behavior issues and encourage them to reach their AR points goals. Thank you!
Midway Field Trip – will be Thurs. June 11. Mrs. Blackford’s and Mrs. Williams’ classes will go Tues. June 9. Permission slips and parent chaperone interest letters will be sent home soon. The estimated cost donation will be $15-$20 which includes bus and Midway program fees. We are excited to participate in their Magnetism program!
Pen Pal Visit Trip – I am trying to schedule a time to meet our pen pals from Feaster School. It will be a walking field trip. I will keep you posted on when that will be. Can’t wait to meet our pen pals!
Safety Patrol – It’s official! Our new fourth-grade patrollers are now on duty (shadowed by 6th grade patrol)! They also received their cool red shirts and jackets. Please check your child’s papers to see what squad they are on, their scheduled days and times for duties, and special events. Safety Patrol is an awesome responsibility!
