Greetings, families! We are now entering into May! Hooray!

CAASPP – This week fourth-graders will take the CAASPP tests in the Computer Lab.  We have been working very hard all year to showcase our best learning! Please make sure your child gets a good night’s sleep, eats a healthy breakfast at home or school 8:15 and comes to school everyday on time 8:45, unless they are sick. We ask that you please schedule any appointments for the afternoon or a different week.  Students are encouraged to bring a water bottle, snack, and personal headphones/earbuds for testing.  Please encourage your child to do their best and take their time on the tests.  Your support is always greatly appreciated! Panthers will do awesome!

Teacher Appreciation Week – This week also! One important Core Value not in the Rosebank list of Core Values, but that I try to teach in the classroom is Gratitude.  Showing gratitude and appreciation for others and things leads to a happy and kind life. Your child may show appreciation to any teacher or staff member on campus.  Here are some suggestions: Monday – hug, Tuesday – flower, Wednesday – card, Thursday – snack, Friday – something sweet.  Thank you in advance!

Science Project Topic Due Monday – Please help your child look over the websites and ideas sent home last week to come up with their question/hypothesis.  Here is a link to Science Bob’s list of ideas!  On Monday, have your child turn in the question they would like to investigate.  Our Science Fair is Friday May 29 from 9:00-10:30 in the multipurpose room.  We hope you can make it!

This Week’s Homework – Read 45 minutes and work on your Science Project/Experiment every night.  There will be no math, no spelling, and no Reading Log to fill out.  Hooray!  We want students to relax and recharge for the next day’s CAASPP test!

Red Carpet Winners – Congratulations to Alan, Anthony, Angel, David, and Ricardo for receiving the Outstanding Academic Effort awards and Julisa for Outstanding Citizenship!

Spirit Day/College Day – Thank you for speaking with your child last week about their future colleges/careers.  It was great to see the students dressed up in college gear/colors and to hear about their long-term goals.  Panthers have bright futures ahead!

Zoo Trip – will be Tuesday May 19.  I have received confirmation! Permission slips and chaperone letters will be sent home this week.  Thank you for your patience!  Just a heads up: Mark your calendar for a field trip to the USS Midway Thurs. June 11.
