Greetings, Rosebank families! Can you believe April is almost over? Wow! Soon it will be May…and then June!
Egg Drop – NASA Operation Reentry, successful or not? What an exciting time we had at Friday’s egg drop! We saw about 30 projects from all three classes give it a go and about 2/3 survive! Ask your child to share. I will send home their finished write-up so they can report their results to you. Please congratulate them on a job well done, whether their egg survived the fall or not. They are all scientists in my book!
Science Fair Project – We have been learning about the Scientific Method in class. We did the Egg Drop Project together to get the kids’ feet wet. We will continue talking about experiments and the Scientific Method in class. Now, your child will be given information to begin their Science Fair Project starting Monday. The Science Fair is on Friday May 29 in the morning. Please mark your calendars so you can attend! The project will require your assistance. With your help, your child will conduct an experiment at home, record the data, and analyze and write their results. They will share their process to the class the last week of May and also present at the Science Fair. Please take a look at the Suggested Timeline/Ideas being sent home so you can set aside time in May to help your child. We hope you and your child will have fun learning about science together!
CAASPP Testing – May 4-8 in the mornings. Please make sure your child comes to school on time everyday, unless of course they are sick. Please schedule appointments for after lunch or a different week. Thank you for your support in this. We also ask that your child bring a personal set of headphones/earbuds for use everyday starting now. Panthers will definitely rock the CAASPP tests! Remember that students can take practice tests at the caaspp.org website anytime.
Spirit Day Friday May 1 – This Friday is College Day. Talk to your child about going to college and different colleges/universities. Have your child show their spirit by wearing the colors or the logo of a college they might like to attend. Panthers are college-bound!
Father-Daughter Dance – Thank you to all dads and girls who came Friday night and the moms and sons who attended Saturday night’s A Night in Neverland. Hope you had a blast! Thank you for supporting Rosebank.
Zoo Field Trip – Mrs. Blackford’s and Mrs. Williams’ classes will go this Tuesday. Our class will go with Ms. Donahue’s class in May. Permission slips will be sent home in the next couple of weeks.
Teacher Appreciation Week – Next week May 4-8. Students may bring appreciation gifts for any teacher at school. Flyer sent home.
Have an awesome week, Panthers! ~ Mrs. King 🙂
